In December 2006, the main engine of the "Innovation" TBM, the first earth pressure balance shield machine tailor-made for Chengdu Metro, will be shipped from our company in Deyang this afternoon and is expected to be transported to the Houzimen TBM shaft tomorrow morning. This is the last batch of parts of the TBM shipped from Deyang, China.

It is reported that with the bridge frame of the TBM being lowered into the shaft yesterday, except for some of the supporting equipment that was lowered into the TBM shaft after the TBM excavated, the rest of the supporting system equipment of the "Innovation" has been lowered into the TBM shaft. The components of the entire "Innovation" are expected to arrive and begin to be fully assembled the day after tomorrow. It is expected that the TBM will start to excavate the tunnel for the first time at the end of this month.
